Wow, Life changes fast!

So the job I started in October didnt work out. The one set of people I was working for turned out to be people with some serious issues and they manipulated and intimidated the other set of people who I was getting along with fine into terminating my contract.

So I decided not to keep flogging the dying employment donkey in the area where I lived. I phoned my daughter in Gauteng and she offered to come and fetch me so that I can look for employment in Gauteng. So I'm now in Gauteng! Northriding to be exact. I dont have my own transport at present as I had to leave my old car in Durban where Dael is currently trying to sort out the brakes. However, Robynne is working in Midrand and her boyfriend works in Randburg so that would be the range of areas in which I could work and just share tranport until I can sort out my own transport again.

If anyone knows of a secretarial/personal assistant/administration position available in those areas, please could you refer me. I have been working in those fields for 20 years plus and am really eager to get stuck into a challenging position again.

I only arrived in Gauteng last night. The kids came down on Saturday afternoon, stayed over and we loaded my cats and clothes and hit the road again. So hold on Jhb, here I come!

  2. Hey-hey! Welcome to JHB. :-) That's actually not very far from us, I'll ask arround and let you know if I hear of anything. If admin is your thing and you're good at it consider looking at temp agencies too, a lot of companies prefer to get someone on assignment (especially this time of the year) and if they perform well offer them permanent positions after a few months.

    Good luck!

  3. Anonymous - It did suck - going through that upheaval but yes I did bring my cats with, with permission from my daughter at whose house Im staying.

Louisa - Thank you for the welcome. I appreciate you keeping your ear to the ground for me. I have no problem working as a temp and once before was taken on to permanent staff after starting as a temp. Im sure something will become available.
